Tardy Policy
Students are expected to be on time to all classes. Students are to be inside the classroom when the tardy bell rings. Students arriving late to school should report to the attendance office, located upstairs in the Asia Office.
Students will be given five (5) minutes during each passing period; do not loiter in the hallways.
Tardy Lockout
Will begin September 7, 2010 and will be enforced every period
- Teachers will lock their doors when the tardy bell rings, and students will not be admitted to class without a Tardy Lockout Pass.
- If you receive a Tardy Lockout Pass, a parent or guardian must sign you in to school the following day or you will not be permitted to attend school. You may return to school on the second day, without a parent or guardian signing you in.
- The sign in location will be the ticket window on the west end of the building.
- Students who receive three Tardy Lockout Passes will be placed on an RPC-T.
- Students who receive four or more Tardy Lockout Passes will be placed on increasing days of suspension, up to ten days.
Cell Phone Policy
In accordance with CCSD policy 5136: The use by students of personal communication devices such as cell phones, pagers/beepers or other similar electronic communication devices, is prohibited at all district school campuses during the instructional day. As long as use is not disruptive, students may use these devices before school, after school, durring lunch periods and while on district buses.
A) These devices must remain OFF, not "silenced", during instructional time including passing periods. (Phones will be confiscated durring this time.)
B) Students who violate this policy will be disciplined as provided for in the Clark County School District's Behavior Guidelines for Secondary Students.
- Disciplinary consequences include confiscation, RPC, and/or suspension for subsequent infractions.
Dress Code
- Shoes must have hard soles. No flip-flops or house shoes/slippers.
- No crop tops (no skin showing between the bottom of the shirt/blouse and top of pants or skirts), strapless, low-cut clothing, or tops and outfits that provide minimum coverage.
- No spaghetti straps. All sleeveless shirts must have straps at least three inches wide and cover the shoulder.
- Shorts, skirts, and dresses must be at least fingertip length while standing.
- All hems must be sewn without any fraying.
- No torn clothing or items with holes.
- No headgear (hats, bandanas, do rags, etc).
- No controversial or obscene slogans or advertising on clothing.
- No spiked or studded clothing, wristbands, dog collars, etc.
- No coats, mittens, gloves, scarves, sweatshirts allowed in the classroom.
- No sagging.
- No oversized clothing. Clothing must be sized to fit the person wearing it.
- No wallet-chains.
Attendance
Seven (7) or more unexcused absences will result in a Denial Of Credit for the semester.
An absence note must be brought to the attendance office, located upstairs in the Asia Office, within three (3) days of the absence.
Absence notes should include the student’s name, student number, grade,
date, reason for absence, and parent/guardian phone number and
signature.
Students have two (2) days to make up missed assignments.
Any student arriving thirty (30) minutes late to class is considered absent
from that period.
